My efforts at anonymous comment posts or general conversation threads are generally failures, but I am literally falling asleep at my table this morning, so I will try once again.

How are you? What are you wearing? What's on your mind? Are you loving the Olympics? Are you ready to scream at someone? Do you have a secret you're dying to share?

I'm wearing a double-knit yet surprisingly light-weight merino scarf tucked into my dress shirt and I think it looks funny.

I have lots on my mind: Job market, too much to do in my current job that needs to be completed by the end of the month which is already short and my boss just reminded me this morning that I was supposed to teach our graduate student on Tuesday and didn't.

The only thing I want to scream about is snow, icepack and the lack of melting, which is probably a good thing since all the storm drains are blocked by icepack...

I know what you mean about the snow. We don't have nearly as much as you do, but I still wish it would all just go away.

I've got too much to do here at work, too, but my head is really just not functioning today. Really fighting to keep my eyes open, and I'm losing that battle.

I love that you know who is posting annonymously...

I'm caffeinated. It's helping a lot with the tiredness. Although I'd have an easier time waking up in the morning if I weren't so dehydrated.

Hee, I don't always know, but I've read your posts recently so some of the themes are familiar. :)

I just had some caffeine, so hopefully that will make me productive for a little while at least.

On my mind: nothing much. I'm an airhead. ;-)

Olympics: enjoying them for the most part.

Scream at someone: Oh, the usual bunch of incompetent morons.

Secret: I was diagnosed with diabetes in November. Talk about a wake up call.

Oh wow. That's tough. Is it the kind manageable with diet and medication, or do you have to do injections? (I learned a lot from my Babysitters Club books, yes, I did.)

Nope, you're not an airhead. :)

It's type 2, so no insulin, thank goodness, just oral meds, plus a strict diet. Of course, if I am unable to control it, eventually I could end up shooting up. ;-) But so far, so good. I am really motivated (going blind and amputations are not acceptable!). Doctor is very pleased with me. Let's hope things continue to go well.

Hee! None of my friends are airheads. :)

Today, I am mostly wearing black. What are you wearing?

I haven't seen any of the Olympics yet! I keep forgetting that it's even on.

I am pretty boring librarian today. Gray trousers, oyster colored button down shirt, black cardigan, black and gray argyle socks, and black mary janes. And a silver and blue flower necklace that I like.

I am going through chunks of Olympics watching. The other night I was flipping constantly between the dog show and the Olympics; last night I couldn't get into it and ended up putting on the House of Elliot instead.

I don't know, that sounds a nice outfit to me.

Dog show! That's not part of the Olympics, is it? Dogs on Ice? Poodles' Slalom?

Date: 2010-02-18 10:01 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] orionnebula.livejournal.com
Hee, no, though dogs on ice would be something! The Westminster Dog Show was on earlier in the week, so of course I had to watch it.

That outfit sounds gorgeous!!

p.s. the 'prove you're not a robot' words for this comment are CLOTHING and PUPPY. Hee.

Aw, thanks!

(And today's outfit of choice is my handknit green Opulent Raglan, brown trousers, brown flowered socks, and green Mary Janes. :)

That's awesome! It's reading our comments!

I am stressed.

I am wearing dark blue jeans, red and white stripey top, pale gray tunic sweater, medium gray and dark gray woolly cardigan, and pale blue socks.

I am worried that I will never be able to get a job and that I will be in dire poverty when I am old.

I am completely missing the Olympics, because of too much work right now, and I hate that because I would like to watch some of it.

Mostly I would like to scream at people who think that treating people as stereotypes instead of individual human beings with a wealth of experience is acceptable behaviour.

I'm sorry you're stressed. I can totally sympathize with your worries. I keep going from unemployed to part time job and back again, and can't seem to get a real job and be able to take care of myself. This whole grown up thing really sucks.

I hope you get to watch some of the things you enjoy, and that work stops being so overwhelming. *hugs* Is there anything I can do to help?

I'm wearing black jeans and a purple/pink striped top. The top was a gift, and when I unwrapped it, my first reaction was, "Yuck! Strange choice!" But it's rather grown on me since...

V much loving the Olympics. Was glued to the whole of women's snowboard cross. Can't wait for the men's long programmes in figure skating.

womens snowboard cross is awesome.

You never know what's going to work!

Hopefully I'll be able to stay up for the men's long programmes. May mean naptime as soon as I get home from work. And muting the television every time Evan Lysacek speaks.

I'm good. My anxiety levels are within the bounds of normal for the first time all month, and I'm going to a concert later.

Purple sweater, jeans, blue beaded necklace

I'm thinking I should send someone a card, but am confused on what kind of card it should be. (Since "Get Well" is sadly not within bounds of possibility for this person)

Too many ads. Drives me insane.

Not yet

My secret is that I fail at anonymity.

Yay for normal anxiety levels! I wish I were more familiar with them. :) Have fun at the concert!

I'm not 100% sure who this is, so you clearly don't fail at anonymity.

I am wearing lime green fleece pants, and I'm not afraid to tell that to the world!

Of course, I'm also not leaving the house in them. Hooray for vacation days.

I'm actually watching the Olympics right now, which is weird, because I really have no interest in sports, but my roommate had them on before she left and they are somewhat entertaining me. See also: vacation day. Although I hear there is hockey soon, at which point I will have to turn the TV off.

Have you guessed who I am yet? :)

No! I haven't guessed who you are--see, anonymity works sometime! I hope you're enjoying your vacation day. :)

I think it was your use of "entertaining" ... you are the only person I know who uses that word on a regular basis.

(Also, you have lime green fleece pants? I am jealous!!)

Hee, I guessed it as soon as [livejournal.com profile] starfishchick was the one who responded. I was trying to figure out who was taking vacation days as opposed to sick or laid off days!

I am very well, thank you. A little tired, but it's nearly the end of the week so that feels normal. How about you?

I am wearing jeans, a white t-shirt and a navy blue cardigan.

Have far less on my mind since it looks like our bathroom is back in use! Hurrah! I thought it was going to cost an arm and a leg but it actually worked out pretty cheap.

Haven't really watched much of the Olympics so far, wrong time zone :-(

Ready to scream at inanimate objects such as reports but not really any person. Well, there are a couple of people I am trying to arrange meetings with who are a complete nightmare but meh.

I revealed my big secret a couple of weeks ago. And now you know exactly who I am.

Date: 2010-02-18 07:47 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] orionnebula.livejournal.com
Hee, well, your secret was a pretty big one--literally--so it does make it easier to know you are. :)

Yay for the bathroom being fixed! That must be a relief.

I am pretty exhausted--haven't been sleeping well this week--but am otherwise doing fairly okay for me.

I am wearing black sneakers, black socks, jeans, a black cami, a red top, and a black cardigan. (Also, a watch and two rings, glasses, and four earrings.)

I need a cup of tea.

I fell asleep last night and missed my country winning an Olympic medal!

It would be really catty of me to point out that some of the things people are claiming about themselves in these positive self-image memes aren't actually true, wouldn't it?

Seriously. Someone clearly is not reading reading their own LJ.

From: [identity profile] orionnebula.livejournal.com
Heh. Apparently some people really don't need a positive self-image meme, when they've already got quite a good opinion of themself. :)
